PSReadLine
The PowerShell console line editor that saves interactive command history to ConsoleHost_history.txt, without timestamps.
PSReadLine is the command-line editing module loaded by the PowerShell console since version 5. It saves accepted interactive commands to a per-user file:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\PowerShell\PSReadLine\ConsoleHost_history.txt
The file has no timestamps — one line per command, in order — and persists across reboots, so it can be far older than the event logs. It records only interactive console input, not scripts, scheduled tasks or non-console runspaces. See ConsoleHost_history.txt forensics.
